A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman John Pfeiffer. John Forbis         moved, seconded by Dini Mallory, to approve the April minutes as presented. John Pfeiffer, John Forbis, Barbara Traskos and Dini Mallory voted in favor, motion passed.

1. Communications: none
2. Public Open Forum: no participation

3. Plaque Program Update: Martha Hansen
206 Mile Creek Road: Research has been started on the neighboring property to help clarify the history of #206. Check with Gary Holland (Martha Hansen).
209 Mile Creek Road: Research is continuing.
Eve Todd, who lives on Library Lane, is interested in a plaque for her house.
32 Lyme Street: Cynthia Taylor is interested in a plaque.

4. Secretary’s Report:  Martha Hansen and Dini Mallory are working on updates to the Historic District Handbook. New photos of the Historic District will be added and some policies and definitions will be clarified. The Historic District map illustration will be redone to identify more historic properties, including those with historic plaques.
Action: check for “before and after” photos of HD properties, the Colonial Dames survey, and Mildred Brown paintings (Martha Hansen).

Active (Open) CofAs: 30 Lyme Street, solar panel installation; 55 Lyme Street, screening fence for propane tank and AC unit.

5. Historic District Boundaries/application: John Pfeiffer would like to find out how the Historic District boundaries (1 McCurdy Road to Rose Lane) came to be set. Board of Selectmen minutes from 1967 through 1970 do not mention the boundaries.
Action: Check with The New London Day newspaper to see if they have any articles on the public hearings held on 10/18/1967and 10/14/1970 (Martha Hansen).

6. Cultural Resource Survey discussion at 5/1 BOS meeting. RFP to be issued.
John Pfeiffer will talk to the Board of Selectmen tonight regarding the survey and the grant to pay for it. He has been in touch with Mary Dunne of CCC&T.

7. Any Other New or Old Business:
National Register Survey: see above
FRA Plan Update: There is no record of decision yet.

John Forbis attended the Little Free Library inauguration on April 23 at LYSB. It was a very nice ceremony and he encouraged HDC members to stop by and look at the Library.
Barbara Traskos found an old photo of the Maynard Market and Maynard Boarding house, which were located next to the Town Hall on Lyme Street. She will donate the photo to the Old Lyme Historical Society.
Dini Mallory will continue the hedge across the front of her garden, removing the garden gate.
Cindi Taylor plans to remove the disintegrating fence between the rear of her house and the neighboring property.

8. Adjournment:
John Forbis made a motion, seconded by Barbara Traskos, to adjourn the meeting at 9:46 am. John Pfeiffer, John Forbis, Barbara Traskos and Dini Mallory voted in favor, motion passed.
